I agree with you  but if I were the "penguin" I would probably see it in other way ;)
Uniforms from private school are very nice. But as you said Paula- expensive.

In my school, uniform costs fewer than 200 litas (<9000 yen). That's because we only have to wear a uniform suit. Unlike other students, I don't rebel as other students do  If you want to imagine that suit, just imagine simple dark blue costume. Maybe I'll try to take a photo of it :) I usually wear blue jeans in my school. There are still few students who wear sport trousers in school, though it's already forbiden :D That's because my school is becoming a gymnasium next year.

Half (or maybe fewer than half) of schools in Klaipeda has school uniforms.

I see. By the way, do you enjoy spending time with Japanese students from Shimada at your school? How long will they be there?

The students came during our spring break. They only visited another local high school for a special event one day.

After some 'adventure' during last summer's holidays when I was coming back from work, I always bring my umbrella with me, even, when it's really hot - it saved my life several times :P (I mean, I take it when I have my bag with me ;) )

Everyone said a lot about uniform in your country. Today I'll share with you about my uniform. :)
In my country-- Vietnam, Ao dai is the traditional costume so the high school students have to wear ao dai at school. That is the way to praise Vietnamese ancient custom. I like wearing the ao dai at school because it looks elegant and beautiful. Besides, the ao dai shows the grace of the school girl. It fits perfectly and shows the wonderful curve of the body.Today, the ao dai is designed in several ways but the uniform in high school is the plain white ao dai. I'll show you some pictures later b)

In the end of 90's I was in HCMC. I was caught in a shower. So many students in pure white ao dai came towards our car. I had never seen such a scene. It was something! I was overwhelmed by the scene.
By the way, each ao dai uniform these days is little bit different from those in 90's. They became more fashionable, didn't they? :)

Hello, everyone! b)
Hi, Mr.Teru
Today, the ao dai is designed in several way depending on the owner's purposes. They really became more fashionable.
The ao dai was developed from Chinese court clothing in the 1930s and went out of fashion in the north in 1954 and in the south in 1975.
Traditionally, long, wide- legged trousers are worn under a high-necked, long-sleeved, fitted tunic with slits along each side. The outfit’s pants reach to the soles of the feet, often trailing along the ground. Over time, the dress tunic has evolved, keeping with fashion trends, and has grown shorter and shorter until it now falls just below the knees.

Thank you for the history of the ao dai. I didn't know that at all.

Last time I visited HCMC, I saw girls in ao dai. Some girls had slits higher and higher. You know, what I mean?
Ao dai which you wear in the photo seems expensive! :)

I have a mistake,I'm so sorry p-)

I mean that now,the dress tunic has grown longer and longer until it now falls just below the knees
Hi Mr.Teru,
The picture is my class. There is Anne_Tran and I in this picture. ;)
I know what you mean. I think that the type of the ao dai depends on the owner, they can design the ao dai by many ways, that's miscellany but however they wear, the ao dai reflect the national character. The ao dai is considered to be elegant, and demure
For students, if the slits are high, they have to wear undershirt(áo lót) inside, that's compulsory! :-k
I'll show you more about the difference between the old ao dai and the ao dai today ;)

Hi, I'm Miho. Nice to meet you.
I think that the type of the ao dai depends on the owner, they can design the ao dai by many ways,

It's very interesting! We can't select the type of the uniform in Japan. We have to wear the decided uniform by school. I prefer a Japanese way because I don't need to think of the type of the uniform much. :P
I prefer the modern ao dai to the old one. Especially I like colerful ones. They are very beautiful. :)
Kei didn't have uniform in his school. ;)

There weren't any uniforms when I was in a primary school (junior high school was created in Poland after I had entered high school) and there aren't any nowdays (in case of the school in my hometown). Yet, in first classes of primary school (about 18 years ago :)) I used to wear an apron which looked like a navy blue short shirt with a white collar. I also had to pin an oval red badge with the name of the school. As far as I remember, I didn't like this apron. Maybe it would have been different, if I had worn a uniform like those in Japan .

I just love the ao dai shown on the pictures, especially modern ones (but the old ones are also very nice) :D.

This is what I like in ao dai the most :D.

This traditional costume suits girls perfectly and it looks so beautiful on them. I almost mistaken white ao dai for wedding dresses . I think, this kind of outfit is so elegant that it would be an excellent choice for any special ocasion or celebration (like wedding, romantic dinner or festival etc. ;)).

By the way, I wish my future girlfriend had one of these in her wardrobe .

Thank you Teru-san, the video is really nice and I could feel warm atmosphere in it :). Girls look lovely in their white ao dai :D. Do you think Japanese girls would like to wear such clothes in their schools if there was a possibility? Would you like to see them in such outfits? It could be very interesting sight, couldn't it?.

How about you girls? Would you replace your school uniforms to ao dai if you had a chance? :)
